Vegan Family Case Study: Visualizing Ethics and Empathy for Children's Literature
This project involved illustrating a rhyming alphabet poem centered on ethics, identity, and the core values of veganism, and successfully transforming abstract concepts into a visually captivating and empowering experience for a young audience.
Project Goal: The primary objective was to create illustrations that were not only engaging for toddlers and young children, but also deeply supportive of the book's positive, ethical message, all while adhering to a strict publishing deadline.
Solution: All 32 pages were executed entirely in Adobe Illustrator using a 100% vector workflow. This approach guaranteed high-resolution, scalable art, enabling quick revisions and precise color control. The illustrations feature a rich 'rainbow' color scheme to enhance visual fun and engagement. The illustrations visually translated abstract concepts, such as 'Empathy' (E) and "Feeling Alone" (F), into clear, simple, and appealing visual metaphors.
Results & Impact: The strategic use of vector art and a vibrant color palette ensured the project was delivered on time, met all technical printing specifications (zero technical issues), and resulted in a high-quality final product. The book quickly gained traction and became a beloved, successful resource within the niche vegan parenting community, meeting the growing demand for age-appropriate, positive literature on kindness and veganism.
